Dear Blog,
Life is no easy being away from family but having good and supportive friends around me, that eases a bit on going through the harsh hard life. I am not missing malaysia that much i reckon since i can find many things in Malaysia in this very heart of London, but nothing could replace my family anyhow. It is a lie if I say that I didnt miss my mum and it is another lie if i say i didnt enjoy being here (at this moment before the real work starts next week). it is a mixture of every feeling.
Dear Blog,
Life here is too different to compare to KL and forget about the weather (of course that is the most apparent difference we have). the english competency that i possessed is way below par and that stresses me somehow. i still could remember on touching down heathrow and listening to the local ppl speaking and sounded so alien to me. yes they are english and they were speaking english but with the accent that little i could catch. i was as good as deaf listening to them! english classes i should enroll first thing first and it isnt about grammar anymore.
i arrived at heathrow on the 3rd with the hope of no jet lag but that was impossible since i didnt sleep during teh whole journey. i have met few malaysian undergrads students as usual " kami tak kenal any other malaysians dah when we are on board". am i too sensitive or they have became less sensitive? 12 hours and 45 minutes of flight and tiring is the right diction to describe. Encik Afandi of Uxbridge came half an hour later and met me at the airport before heading to his place (a transit for a homeless like me! ha ha ha). Encik Afandi is a UTHM lecturer doing his PhD in Brunel Uni. ouh everything is fine in london except the accomodation, it kills! ha ha ha. for a studio flat (kalau di malaysia a house of no room, one kitchen and a small living room) it costs nearly 600 gbp (sila darab dengan 6.43-rate terbaru). but we cant be choosy here. we just grabbed any room that reasonably okay and there we live and to survive for the rest of 3 years more or less. in KL, we can have a mansion applying the same renting rate. this teaches me "hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, i choose of no hujan at all". i mean i love malaysia more!
Blog,
I'd like to share some of the pics captured and i'd like to extend my gratitude to Encik Afandi for asking me out and showing me how to live in London.
